What's happening after shooting at Trump rally in Pennsylvania
Former President Donald Trump was injured in an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. A shooter opened fire, injuring Trump's right ear. One spectator was killed and another two were injured.
The shooter is dead. The shots were fired from an elevated position outside the Secret Service's security perimeter for the venue, three senior law enforcement sources said.
The FBI has identified the shooter as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.
Witnesses on the ground described the terror and chaos unleashed by the shooting, from the initial uncertainty after hearing loud popping noises to the mass evacuation of the venue.
President Joe Biden called the shooting "sick" and condemned political violence. He spoke with Trump later in the day. Adrien Nzayisenga
